I feel pretty. Oh so pretty and witty and gay.

The UN’s message - LGBT rights are human rights: 76 countries still criminalize consensual same-sex relationships and lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender people everywhere continue to suffer violent attacks and discriminatory treatment.

In this simple, high-impact video from the UN human rights office, individuals from diverse backgrounds pose questions directly to the viewer designed to expose the nature of human rights violations suffered by LGBT people around the world. The video includes cameo appearances by UN Secretary-General and High Commissioner for Human Rights Navi Pillay.

Together we will build a world that is free and equal.

Gay of Thrones: This is exactly what I think during Game of Thrones.

Khaleesi (Christina Aguilera) is one fierce bitch and I cannot get enough of this mid-evil cray. And then watching these recaps makes me wet myself.

Here is the latest episode recap.

Enjoy!

Bambi: Famous for those bushy eyebrows is the face of Woolworths Autumn/Winter 13 Campaign in stores now. I think it’s really rad when local stores use hot international models. Well done Woolies.

Bambi Northwood-Blyth (real name is Stephanie) is an Australian model, born 1991, and has has been called Bambi since she was a little girl and even has a tattoo of a deer on the inside of her wrist. Bambi’s modelling career took off in early 2010, when she was seen in photos with her boyfriend (Ksubi founder Dan Single) on an Australian gossip site, OMFG!

At the time, she was already signed with a Model Management in Sydney, and had been working towards a modelling career for about 3 years. She signed with Elite NY soon after the tabloid fodder and hit the international fashion scene during the Spring/Summer 2011 shows with a bang, booking major shows such as Chanel and Balenciaga. She instantly became an “it” model. She continued to book shows after that and has appeared on major magazine covers including Oyster, Harper’s Bazaar, Marie Claire, V Magazine and Vogue Nippon. Bambi has been in advertising campaigns for major brands such as CK One, Fornarina, Armani Jeans, H&M, Cotton On (currently in stores in RSA too. Eeek!) and Top Shop.

Here is a link to the Woolies exclusive behind the scene “10 Question Chat with Bambi” and the campaign TV commercial.

Tegan and Sara - Closer: These identical Canadian twins are making my life at the moment. This song has been on repeat for an unhealthy amount of time and still can’t get enough of it.

The lyrics are beautiful and so is the video which is very inclusive. Tegan and Sara are also both lesbians. Not with each other though, this is not  t.a.T.u.

Yay for the gay!

Beto Malfacini: I know you’re pleased to meet this delicious Brazilian model.
Here are some more pics to (en)gorge yourself on. God is good.

Solange - Losing you: I love this music video so much. It captures the beautiful essence of South Africa.

Despite the lyrics, when I watch this I feel hopeful for everyone. What a great song Solange. Also you’re pretty.

OIA: I hope you are getting your Out In Africa on over the next week. I am watching (you and the films)!
The April festival started on Friday and runs until Sunday the 21st of April at Nu Metro V&A Waterfront and Hyde Park in JHB. With a fantastic line up of international award-winning films, features and a documentary, that cover all the bases – popular revolution, ballet, romance, drama, and an insightful look at a clash of cultures. Among the international award-winners is INTERIOR. LEATHER BAR which I saw on Friday (James Franco is so far up his own arse but that is another story). I am also really excited to see the SA programme - 2 shorts Kinsey & Nosiphokazi’s story, which is one of Two Stories and the documentary feature, Bros B4 Hos which my feature a friend from varsity.
Go support OIA as this festival is one of the most precious gems of the South African gay community in my opinion and it may be ending very soon without your support…
OIA does not have the funds to continue the festival, so get off your tight ass, sign up to be a 8333 member and nominate OIA as your beneficiary on your Woolworth’s My School Card. All details on OIA.co.za
Download the full programme here.

Anna Kendrick - Cups: This is the director’s cut of Pitch Perfect’s “When I am Gone.”

Anna Kendrick really is super talented, a hilarious tweeter and has been nominated for an Oscar, Tony and a barrage of other awards! I feel like Pitch Perfect has finally brought this to the attention of the world.

Watch this, I want her to be my best friend. Apparently she is good friends with Adam Lambert. I mean that’s a sign.

My WE ARE ONE Guide: Due to the thousands of newly drunkard teenagers looking for a fresh location to get wasted and maybe release some sexual tension the We Are One Colour Festival (previously known as Holi One) was sold out in a nano second. It will defs be returning to make the organisers a couple more million from appropriating another culture’s sacred traditions.

The following is a my guide (with the help of my hilarious and sexy friend @MaxineR_M) to be prepared for next year because if you’re not posting 12 well edited pictures of yourself chocking on coloured paint, you have no friends and are definably going to die alone.

1) Take sunglasses and a scarf to place over your nose and mouth ‘cause you will feel like a Jew in the gas chamber if you are in the centre of the powder paint countdown! No, the paint does not taste like rainbows and sunshine but much more like emphysema.

2.) Don’t wear your Sunday best whites. No, no, they say the colour comes out but they’re 90% lying.

3.) The orange powder turns brown after 30 minutes. Embrace the blues and greens and pinks. Also, these sell out first.

4.) To avoid the ‘Jesus after 40 days in the Desert’ look, take lipice. You may also want to take We Are one literally and fondle someone in the haze. It’s a rapist’s paradise. At least have the courtesy not to have chapped lips.

5.) The music was so great I could have danced all (day and) night. Yes, I’m a Fairlady so taking sunscreen is essential as this party is during the day dummies.

6.) Bring something to cover your car seats for the desperate drive home to a hot shower.

7.) I really had an unexpected like emotional experience when the power covered everyone and we did actually become one colour. With the powder covering everyone’s flaws I fell in love with a number of men and we had deep meaningful relationships. Also, when all the paint blocks out the sun for a second you will maybe pee yourself a little in fear of death.

Follow this guide and drink enough to forget the long bar queues and you’ll have a fantastic time!

P.S. A huge thank you to the talented David Edwards for the pics above. He is my favourite.
